Although SOLAS Chapter III, Regulation 20 (Operational Readiness, Maintenance, and Inspections) is in effect, injuries and fatalities still occur with lifeboat hooks opening unexpectedly. Cranston-Eagle Marine Off-Load Hooks will not open under load.

They are available exclusively in the United States, and Central and South America from Delta "T" Systems.

Cranston-Eagle Marine Off-Load Hooks are engineered so that the locking mechanism will open only when the weight has been taken off, and the cable pulled. There is no on-load release capability. Built of 100% stainless steel, they are available in capacities from 2.5-12mt, and in cable- and boat-mounted configurations. Designed for maximum safety and reliability, they're SOLAS certified and USCG approved.

Per IMO and SOLAS rules, lifting appliances need to be tested and recertified every five years. Delta "T" Systems is authorized to tear down and clean the hook, rebuild it, perform load and dye penetration testing, and issue recertification documentation. The standard turnaround time is two weeks.
